Why the mehndi and the sangeet are the best fit
People think of the rickshaw as a baraat vehicle, and it is, but the pre-wedding nights are where it does the most work per dollar. A baraat is 10 minutes. A mehndi or a sangeet is 4 or 5 hours of people sitting, eating, dancing and taking photographs in the same space, which is exactly the shape of event a stationary photo piece is built for.
It also fits the venues these nights actually happen in. Mehndis and mehendis are frequently held at home, in a backyard, on a driveway, in a rented hall or under a tent, and every one of those is private property, which is the only kind of ground the rickshaw runs on. There is no permit conversation and no street to worry about.
What it does across the night
- The bride arrives on it, slowly, with the music coming from the vehicle itself.
- It parks where you want it and becomes the photo backdrop for the rest of the event.
- Guests climb in, up to 5 at a time, and shoot on their own phones with no attendant and no print queue.
- Dressed in marigolds it reads as decor rather than as a rental, so it earns its floor space.
- At the end of the night it can carry the couple out for the send-off, if you booked a window that covers it.
The vehicle is a 2024 Euro Captain electric tuktuk, blue and white, with a convertible canvas top, decorated spoke wheels, glowing round headlights and built-in Bluetooth speakers. It seats up to 5 and is most comfortable with 2 to 3 passengers plus the driver. Top speed is 28 km/h, about 17 miles per hour, which is only ever relevant as a ceiling, since an entrance runs at walking pace.

What we need from you or your venue
- Somewhere to park a trailer while we unload, and a route from there to where the rickshaw will sit.
- A firm, level surface. Soft ground and loose gravel are the 2 things that cause problems.
- A decision from the venue or the homeowner if you want the rickshaw indoors or under a tent.
- 45 minutes before your booked window, which is when we arrive and set up.
- Rider waivers signed before anyone gets in. Maximum 5 riders, nobody standing.

Booking a pre-wedding night
Pick the package, enter the address, choose the window you want the rickshaw on site from and until, and the site returns the real total with travel already inside it. A 50% deposit holds the date and the agreement is signed online. If the mehndi and the wedding are on consecutive days, check both dates in one sitting: there is one vehicle, and the second date is only available if nobody else has taken it.
Mehndi and sangeet questions
How much is a rickshaw for a mehndi or sangeet?
$750 for an entrance inside a 2-hour venue window, or $1,100 to keep the rickshaw on site for a 4-hour window as a stationary photo piece. The second one is what most mehndi and sangeet clients actually want, because these nights are long and the vehicle earns its keep by staying.
Can you come to a house or a backyard event?
Yes, and these are among the easiest events we do. The rickshaw only ever operates on private property, so a driveway, a backyard with a firm level surface, or a private lot is exactly the setting it is built for. We need a route in from where the trailer can park, which we walk with you before guests arrive.
Is it safe indoors or under a tent?
It is fully electric with no exhaust and almost no noise, which is why tented and indoor spaces are usually possible where a gas vehicle would be refused outright. The venue or the homeowner still makes the call, and a firm level surface is the requirement either way.
Can we run our own playlist through it?
Yes. The rickshaw has built-in Bluetooth speakers. Send the playlist ahead of the event or pair a phone on the night. For a sangeet most people use it for the entrance and then leave it playing quietly next to the photo line.
Can it be decorated with marigolds?
Yes. Classic marigold garlands with matching signage carrying your names or the event details is $150. A full floral arrangement in your event colors with custom signage is $300. If your decorator is already dressing the space, they can dress the rickshaw instead and there is no decoration charge from us.
We have a mehndi on Friday and the wedding on Saturday. Can you do both?
Ask early. There is one rickshaw and it does one event at a time, so back-to-back days are possible but only if both dates are still open. Book the pair together rather than adding the second one later.
