The Rickshaw Affair publishes 5 packages: Entrance $750 for a 2-hour venue window; Entry & Exit $950 for 4 hours; Photo Booth $1,100 for 4 hours; Full Event $3,000 for 8 hours; Corporate/Custom from $5,000, custom quoted. Every price includes the first 30 miles of travel, and anything beyond that is $3.50 per mile calculated into the quote rather than invoiced afterwards. A 50% deposit holds the date and the remaining balance is charged to the same card 14 days before the event.
Yes. Enter the package, the venue address and the venue window and the site returns the total, including travel, before you speak to anyone. The only package that is not instantly priced is corporate and custom, which is quoted because branding and run-of-show differ every time.
A 50% deposit is paid online at booking and holds the date. The remaining balance is charged automatically to the same card 14 days before the event, and we email you before it happens. If you book within 14 days of the event there is no balance: you pay in full at signing. The rental agreement is signed online at the same time.
The first 30 miles are included in every package. Beyond that, travel is $3.50 per mile and is already inside the total the site quotes you. There is no separate travel invoice after the event.
Classic marigold garlands with matching signage is $150. Premium florals arranged in your event colors with custom signage is $300. Anything more elaborate is quoted. If your own decorator dresses the rickshaw there is no decoration charge from us; share their contact at booking and we coordinate with them directly.
Extra hours inside the venue window you book are priced per hour on the package you chose, and the site shows that in the quote before you pay. Overtime that happens on the night, past the window, is charged per 30-minute increment at 1.5 times the hourly rate to the card on file, and we tell you before the clock runs over.
A 2024 Euro Captain electric tuktuk in blue and white, with a convertible canvas top, decorated spoke wheels, glowing round headlights and built-in Bluetooth speakers. It is fully electric, so it is silent and produces no exhaust.
Up to 5 people in total. It is most comfortable with 2 to 3 passengers plus the driver. Every rider signs a waiver before the vehicle moves and nobody rides standing.
Top speed is 28 km/h, roughly 17 miles per hour, and entrances run far below that at walking pace. Slow is the point: an entrance has to be slow enough for a room to turn around and film it.
Yes. The rickshaw has built-in Bluetooth speakers. Send a playlist ahead of the event or pair a phone on the day.
Frequently, yes, and it is the single most common question we get. The vehicle is fully electric, silent and produces no exhaust, so ballrooms, lobbies, atriums and tented spaces that would refuse a gas vehicle will often allow this one. The venue always makes the final call and the surface has to be firm and level. We are happy to speak to your coordinator directly.
No. The rickshaw is not street legal in Texas and never operates on a public road. It is delivered to the event on a trailer and driven only on private property: venue grounds, driveways, motor courts, parking areas, lawns and indoor spaces the venue controls. It cannot carry anyone from one address to another.
Somewhere to park a trailer during unload and load, a firm and level route from there to where the rickshaw will be used, and a decision on indoor or tented placement. We walk that route with the venue coordinator 45 minutes before the booked window starts.
Yes, plus the rest of the DFW area. The first 30 miles are included and anything past that is priced into the quote at $3.50 per mile.
Yes, and it is one of the most common bookings. The groom rides in with up to 4 others, the vehicle carries the music, and the procession runs on the venue property at walking pace. A baraat horse in Dallas runs $400 to $650, needs a handler, carries 2 people at most and can spook in a crowd; the rickshaw seats more, brings its own sound and does not react to drums or cameras.
Yes. Entrance only is $750, or keep the rickshaw for the night as a photo piece for the court on the photo booth package at $1,100. It cannot carry her from the church to the hall, because it never uses public roads.
It works as one, with an important difference: there is no backdrop, no printer, no props and no queue. The rickshaw is parked, dressed and available for the window you booked, and guests climb in and shoot on their own phones. We do not supply a photographer.
Yes, under the corporate and custom package, which starts at $5,000 and is always quoted rather than charged off a list. Because the vehicle is electric and silent, indoor activations in lobbies, atriums and expo halls are realistic where the venue allows it.
At least 3 to 4 weeks, and further out for a weekend in peak season, which is April to June and October to November. There is one rickshaw and it does one event at a time, so a date is only held once the deposit clears.
We arrive 45 minutes before the booked window, unload from the trailer, walk the route and placement with your coordinator before guests arrive, and dress the vehicle if we are supplying the decor. The moment runs on your cue. The rickshaw then stays parked as a photo piece until the window ends.
The rickshaw has a covered top, so light rain is not a problem. For severe weather, meaning lightning, high winds or flooding, we work with you to reschedule at no penalty to either side.
Full refund of the deposit 14 or more days before the event, 50% refund 7 to 13 days out, and no refund inside 7 days. All cancellations must be submitted in writing. The full terms are in the rental agreement you sign at booking.
Yes. There is a referral program with a partner login: referred clients get a discount and the partner earns on every booking they send. Venues and planners can also just hand couples the booking link.
